Step 1
Complimentary Consultation
We begin with a complimentary civil engineer consultation by phone or in person. It is our goal to gain a clear understanding of project goals, see our client’s vision, and then assist in developing a roadmap to achieve results.
Step 2
Scope & Schematic Design
After the initial civil engineer consultation, we’ll prepare a scope of work, proposal, and fee. At this stage, we strive to empower our clients by providing them with clarity and knowledge about the process. Once the client is ready to move forward, we prepare civil engineer schematic design to assist in developing the site plan. Providing the engineering input during the schematic design phase improves the end result by incorporating key elements into the overall site early in the process. The schematic design is presented to the client for review and approval.
Step 3
Final Design & Permits
Once the client approves, we proceed with additional design to the level of detail required for submittal and intake to the permitting agencies such as the City, County or Environmental Stakeholders. Agencies will typically review and issue comments back to us. Once received, we will address comments and submit a response package for subsequent review by the agency. When the agency comments have been resolved, land use or construction permits will be issued which signals completion of our design service phase of work.
Step 4
Construction Administration
We then begin our construction administration phase of work by supporting bidding contractors, construction operations, inspection coordination, and site monitoring on an as needed basis until the client’s vision becomes a reality in the form of completed construction. Then, we celebrate with our client!
